Expert Accident Compensation Solicitors Newcastle Upon Tyne

Work is often a labour of love for Mary Ann. For the equestrian world not only accounts for most of her leisure time, she is also the firm’s equine law expert and is highly regarded in the  growing field of equestrian law.

After qualifying in 1987, she concentrated immediately on civil litigation, the main volume of which is personal injury work.

For a time, she often represented defendants, usually insurance companies fighting a claim for compensation. Now, she works predominantly for claimants, the people who have suffered some kind of personal injury, which was beyond their control.  She acts for clients who have suffered a wide range of injuries.

“You are actually trying to help people deal with difficult circumstances, trying to secure compensation for their future over the longer term,” she says.

“This can range from losing a livelihood or home to less catastrophic events which nevertheless interrupt everyday life.”

In the highly technical and often complex area of equine law, she has developed an unrivalled depth of knowledge and experience.

Mary Ann, who rides horse and breeds horses, is a judge of Cleveland Bays Horse Society, an Assistant District Commissioner for The Pony Club UK, and founder of the professional group Equine Lawyers UK, says: “I’m fortunate that I can match my main leisure pursuit with my work activity.

“The fact that I’m familiar with most fields of equine endeavour, and therefore UK equine law, and have a wide knowledge base, helps me understand the key issues very rapidly. My level of experience means my clients can be entirely confident about what can be achieved”
